A research team from Dalian Maritime University has developed a flexible, seaweed-like triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) for wave energy harvesting. This innovative device can efficiently convert ocean wave energy into electricity, providing a sustainable power source for marine sensors and IoT devices. The TENG is made from conductive ink-coated PET and FEP materials, and its flexible structure allows it to operate effectively in various marine environments. This breakthrough has the potential to revolutionize the way we power underwater devices and contribute to the development of the Marine Internet of Things (MIoT).
